  1. These are such bitter and cynical times we ALL are living in. This short video really touched my heart - so I wanted to share it with you. Hope you enjoy...

  2. This is absolutely delightful, Dylan, and it truly did warm my heart. It put me in an optimistic mood (which isn't easy to do).

  3. Glad it put you in an optimistic mood, Jon. It did the same for me. There's so much negative news on the internet these days: It did my heart good to discover this delightful little gem :-)

    1. I just got it today! A kind friend picked it up at the library for me. It's going to be a busy week, but I will write a movie blurb the minute I've seen it. The thing is, I also have 8 books and 5 other DVDs (from the library) to read/watch. But I'm placing A Street Cat Named Bob at the top of my list. Thanks for stopping by :-)

  5. Okay, went ahead and got started on the Bob video. Had to stop after 20 minutes: It's just too real to life. I've been homeless (during my youth), and this movie does not pull a usual Hollywood fantasy. Plus the cruelty towards animals I know all too well: If not for James, Bob would have died. And what a sad statement about our society that truly is. I need to take a break from playing Roger Ebert. But I promise to return as soon as I'm feeling strong enough to finish watching this very important film. Just give me a day or two...

  6. P.S. Plus I've been awake for close to 24 hours. Would prefer to get at least 8 hours sleep, and offer a more alert review/blurb. Bob deserves the very best...

    1. Did you watch your Bob DVD? Most critics describe it as an inspiration. I'm hoping I will feel the same way after the first half hour...

  8. Finally got around to watching the Bob film (twice). I give it four stars because it is such an unusual film. All of the human actors give flawless performances, and Bob (he played himself in most of the scenes) deserves an Academy Award. He manages to put Morris the cat to shame - and that's a tough act to follow.

If you love animals and have compassion for homeless folks and people in recovery, then this splendid little gem of a film is a must see.

  9. Hi Dylan, that was a great clip which warms the heart. We could use more kindness in this world. Have a pleasant 4th of July, no matter what you're doing. Take care ...
