THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER (for GEORGE FLOYD)

28 comments:

  1. Peaceful protests followed by very loud riots downtown. I live with this daily. Food is rarely available on the store shelves, and everybody is wearing a mask while keeping six feet away from each other.

This is Trump's corrupt world. I'm hoping for a change. Let's make it happen! Vote! As Patti says: THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER! Let's put a stop to this insanity as soon as possible. Again, VOTE! Peace.

  3. She most certainly does! Can you imagine what America would be like if she was in charge (instead of THAT pathological cretin?) A lot more compassion for the poor. And police brutality would NOT be happening every other week - especially to marginalized folks.

I love her great spirit and music. One day, one very fine day - The People WILL have the power - And Trump will go down as the worst president in U.S. history. A poet he is not. Why does he always sound like he has marbles in his mouth?

  4. Dylan, I'm sending you a hug - packed with revolutionary energy, balanced by a smooth block of calm xx Looking forward to the world getting fairer!

    1. Lisa, you are one of the truly GOOD souls out there. Thank you for your wise words - just what I needed to hear most!

It's funny to me to discover just how much most people don't want to hear the truth? Friends suddenly vanish (they were never true friends) so my heart is not broken.

However, if I am forced to read Donald Trump's insane words on a daily basis, then I also have the right to speak my own truth big time. He (and his cult following) call this fake news. I call it freedom of speech. Enough said.

      Thanking you 1001 times!

      Dylan

P.S. Stay safe no matter where in the world you are living. Oh, and be grateful you are not living in America - Trump has reduced the country to a war zone - I get to experience his insanity every single day, etc. It isn't pretty.

Again, thank you for being so loyal and true :-)

    2. Sometimes people can't admit the truth because it is also admitting that they were less than clever in falling for a lie. It is saddening to watch the news. May you be safe also xx

    3. Lisa, thank you for speaking the truth. Many more people need to follow your example :-)

  6. Hi Dylan,

I've been absent for awhile now. Much has taken place in my personal life that has had a great impact on me. In short, I've lost two wonderful humans to Covid, that were among the best of the best doing their part in fighting to save lives from this horrid virus. It shattered me.

Then comes the daily news we are subjected to hearing from the "idiot in chief " and his puppet sidekick with all of their lying to the people - even while the virus is spreading at alarming rates in populous states and elsewhere of course. How stupid do they think people are ? Pretending Covid doesn't exist, clearly displays his abject failure on how to responsibly deal with this crisis.

Trump's entire response to the pandemic ( from the get go ) hasn't been driven by science, empathy, or concern for the health of the nation - but instead for his own twisted and demented political calculations. He's failed the most basic tests of leadership in the face of the most serious public health crisis this generation has ever faced. His failures have cost over a hundred thousand US lives to date, and counting. But ... he doesn't care. He never did.

You are so right ... he will go down as the worst President in US history. I can only hope that the people vote his ass out of office.

I sincerely wish you all the best and that you survive this madness we are all facing in our lives right now. Take care of yourself and please stay safe ... Helga

  7. Dear Dylan, thanks for that selection. Patti Smith has long been a conscientious proponent of peace and civil rights. As a poet/composer and singer she is reliably magnificent. Thanks again for posting this.

    1. Geo, Patti is one of the few sane voices we have left in America. She certainly puts Trump and his cult to shame big time. I'm glad you appreciated her much needed song.

  8. THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER! VOTE!! Thanks for making me feel less insane - but with a sociopath ruling the country - it's easy to doubt yourself big time :-)

I want to thank Lisa, Helga, and Geo for being the voice(s) of reason during this insane time. I'll write more later, but it is past 4 A.M.

I've been awake for 30 hours - that's how crazy Trump's America is at the moment. How can you sleep when a madman is telling us what to do? Even if it means a certain death?

  9. Helga, I'm so sorry for your loss and I totally understand your frustration and anger: I feel the same way! Many people have died in the high rise building I live in. Yet Trump and his deluded followers claim there is no virus? What sort of rock are they hiding under?

I only go out when there is no other choice (and I always wear a mask). And what is Trump doing? Hiding in his safe little Bunker. Such an obvious coward! Now he's complaining that nobody loves him. Seriously? Is he really THAT clueless? I believe he is.

Please stay as safe as you can! It made my day when I found your comment on my all but abandoned blog :-)

  11. Thank you Dylan. I'm sending you a virtual hug for wearing a mask when you need to head out. Regardless of this idiotic mask debate, they save lives. Period. I don't go anywhere without one on my face and our numbers are way lower than the United States. A cough or sneeze sprays droplets six and half feet into the air. With a mask those same droplets travel two and a half inches. Big difference. If the situation should take a turn and worsen here, I'll be wearing a hazmat suit. How's that for fashionable apparel ... with heels of course ... ha ha.

I'm sorry to hear people have lost their lives in your building. 2020 has been a terrible year so far ... and I'm uncertain what 2021 will bring us. Stay safe ... Helga

    1. Helga, thanks for the good wishes - I wish you the same :-) I like your idea about the hazmat suit big time. I won't be wearing heels, but I would love to find something green or blue - my favorite colors. We need to do what we need to do to survive this horrible time in history.

I've noticed that quite a few folks that made the HUGE mistake of giving Trump any kind of power are NOW saying they will not make the same mistake this coming November.

Yes, let's keep our fingers crossed. Many sane people are finally letting THE IDIOT know he is no longer welcome. In fact, I think his sorry ass should be locked up - or tossed out of America. He's both pathetic and a threat to the American people.

      Stay safe *Hugs*

    2. Hi Helga! Hope you are okay? I cannot figure out all these new Blogger rules, so I will just leave you a friendly comment as an update :-)

Not so much smoke here these days - however, a Korean church was much damaged by a serious fire not many days ago. Was it an accident? Was it arson? Nobody really seems to know. But given the recent (thanks Donald) racist vibe in my city (and all over America) I tend to think it was the latter...

I'm sorry to hear about Trump testing positive for a "Chinese" virus he said was "FAKE" news. Many Americans have been exposed or died as a result. May his fake words be a lesson to us all. I really do hope he survives - just place him in a nice little hospital - Washington is not his element, etc.

I miss you! Please continue staying safe (mask, social distance, etc.)

    3. Hi Dylan ... what a coincidence as I was just checking in to see if you had written on your blog. I was thinking this year with covid, politics, and those horrid fires, that life hasn't been easy for you, or any of us really.

You're a better person than I since I can't muster any good vibrations towards Trump. It was so obvious with his reckless, self-centered behaviors, that a shit storm of Covid was going to happen at one of his super spreader events.

We had some of the smoke up here and it was unpleasant for about a week or so. I was watching this program about climate change and how it was predicted by science that California will continue to burn - due to the years of heavy drought that they experienced - and how earth will change over the next few decades. Interesting, yet quite troublesome for future generations.

I'm looking after my best buddy. My little dog ( Rain ) who is 12 years old was just diagnosed with cancer, so that will be a difficult loss. Life sure sucks at times. This year has been the worst, but we have to carry on as best we can.

I miss you too ! Take care of yourself and continue to stay safe. Best wishes to you and Roy. Talk soon I hope.

      Helga

    4. Hi Helga! Thanks for the quick response! I've pretty much abandoned this blog (the NEW Blogger totally sucks), so I am quite grateful for your insightful comment, etc.

First, I am so sorry to hear about your little dog (Rain). Letting go of a beloved pet is often more difficult than letting go of "real" people. Pets are more honest and loyal than human beings (IMO), so I totally know where you are coming from. In fact, after the tragedy of losing Venus (my beloved cat) I never attempted to replace her in any way. The emotional pain was too much...

Regarding what you said about the criminal in the White House - I could not agree with you more! I only want him to survive so he can spend the rest of his wretched life locked up in prison. His crimes against humanity continue - now that he insisted on leaving his hospital suite (how many of us will ever receive such "royal" treatment if/when we become ill?). How many more people does he plan to expose to Covid because of his obvious mental illness? It's time to lock the dangerous lunatic up big time!

Anyway, death is too good for him - he deserves to suffer as he has caused so many innocent people to suffer, etc. Karma? No, I don't believe in that. But there is a little thing called Poetic Justice - and he is deserving of it more than any other person I can imagine on this much abused planet...

Both Roy and I are keeping you in our thoughts during this most difficult time you are going through right now. A big hug for you and Rain. May we all find/know peace...

  12. Hi Dylan, I've returned after a month to tell you I've listened to Patti Smith's song/poem several times by following these lines into memory:

    "I awakened to the cry
That the people have the power
To redeem the work of fools..."

And I thank you again for the opportunity to do so. We sure need this compassionate encouragement now.

    1. Dear Geo, it looks like Patti Smith's always insightful words are about to become a reality! Even though I don't believe in karma - I do very much believe in poetic justice (especially when it comes to poetry and music).

Yes, the people have the power - to redeem the "fake" words of bullies/fools.

      Now everybody vote!!

Hope you and yours are well? Stay safe,

      Dylan

  13. Dear Geo, yes - her powerful words need to be heard by many: Alas, it seems like most people are deaf at best. That's why I no longer blog, etc.

Oh, I do take long peeks at blogs that actually make some kind of sense to me - but they are becoming increasingly rare, so I keep my mouth shut big time.

Your blogs are always brilliant and friendly. I don't always comment, but I am quite grateful for your much needed voice. Keep up the good work!
