I first heard this song in 1977 (on the radio). I'd just dropped out of high school (at the age of 15), and was depressed as hell. I still can remember being stuck in bed for days, not being able to eat or care for myself. Clinical depression sucks big time. But this song made me want to get up and dance. So I did - right there in my dark bedroom. :-)
P.S. Then I took a much needed bath, and ate some soup and bread. Music is the best antidepressant :-)
