Wow, this is the first time I ever heard this rendition of this famous Joplin tune. And it totally rocks!! I guess I'm not as much a JJ expert as I'd like to believe? It's humble pie time (a big slice) for this long-time fan (34 years) :-)

You are correct, Roy. But the song (I think) is about how she drove around in a second hand car, while others (not the celebrated artist that she was) used their expensive (new) toys to let the world know how superior they were. She was being ironic. That was Janis :-)
