  1. Jon, I hope you are okay? So many of us are very concerned about you...

  2. Great song choice. I hope Jon comes here to hear it. I think music could be the best tool to help him climb out of his dark place.

  5. I'm finally here, Dylan - better late than never. I don't recall ever hearing this Joplin song, but I love it. I think it's one of her best. Many thanks for thinking of me. Music is always one of the best sources of solace and encouragement.

Things finally seem to be going better for me and I'm actually feeling (cautiously) optimistic. There's a helluva lot of darkness in this world - but that's what makes the light so precious.

    1. Jon, your post made my day. I'm also a pessimist, so I can totally relate to what you have been going through. Good friends are the precious light we all seek and need. Bad seeds always perish in the darkness.

  6. If you didn't watch America's Got Talent this year, check Youtube for some videos of a contestant named Courtney Hadwin. She's only 13, but she's got a lot of the same kinda energy that Janis had.

  7. Had never heard this song before. Inexcusable for a kid my age (only 68. What?). Thanks for posting it, Dylan.

    1. Janis never wrote very many songs, but when she did - she really nailed it (Move Over is another good one). This tune is the lead track on her first solo album (after she left Big Brother and the Holding Company). It wasn't a big hit, but most big hits are not that great to start with :-)
